Orbital technologies, a Russian company, have now
said that it is going to have a fully operational space hotel by the year 2016.
Visitors have the choice between vertical and horizontal beds and due to
weightlessness there is very little difference. The whole thing can house up to
seven guests at a time and orbits 200 miles above planet earth. And while the
international space station did not have showers to avoid water getting
everywhere this one will have sealed off chambers for showering.
Sergei
Kostenko, chief executive of orbital technologies said, "a hotel should be
comfortable and this one will be" also travelers are only allowed to drink
iced tea and juices while onboard, no alcohol allowed. As for food they will
have microwaved food that was prepared on earth and reheated. As great as it
sounds the trip there will cost 500,000 euro's and a five-day stay will be
100,000 euro's in total that’s $680,879.98, not exactly a budget trip.
